The Kentucky Fire Commission will be sponsoring an IFSAC Accredited certification Firefighter 1 and 2 skills exam, August 9-10, 2008 in the Paducah area. Testing location is scheduled to be located at the Calvert City Training Center. DIRECTIONS: Take exit 27 off I-24, go toward Calvert City to 2nd traffic light. Turn right onto Hwy 95, travel till you cross railroad tracks, take the 2nd left onto "C" Ave, go to the end of the street.

Firefighter 1 candidates are asked to report at 7:45 am central time on Saturday morning for a 8 am local time scheduled start of testing. Firefighter 2 testing will begin at 8 am Sunday morning. Candidates for testing must bring full PPE and SCBA. Candidates must also bring thier own copy of all Kentucky Firefighter 1&2 and Haz Mat Operations Skill Sheets to use as reference materials. It is recommended you also bring a snack and drink as testing will not break for lunch either day. Testing is expected to conclude by 3pm each day.

Candidates for testing must bring completed FF1, FF2, Haz Mat Awareness and Haz Mat Operations certification applications to the testing site. These applications are to be signed by the department chief or designee attesting the candidates competency in the required NFPA objectives.
Applications and skills sheets are available on the IFSAC Accredited Certification section of this website. Anyone that intends to test should pre-register for the exam so we may plan for your attendance.
